Wow…it's already Wednesday? Or only Wednesday? Things have been pretty busy for me, so passage of time gets weird. Busy times can often require strong partnerships to get things flowing. See how smoothly I flow into which set of cards we're looking at today?
The 2s! We already covered the basic meanings of each suit and how simple that is to read with Aces. Now we start getting into reading the meaning of the number and the suit together.
The chaotic potential of an Ace is both everything and nothing. It's a bag of ingredients. The 2s are where we start sorting ingredients out, finding our measuring cups, and things start taking form. They are about partnerships. Who are you working with? Who should you be working with? Is the obstacle in progress a weakness in the partnership? These are some of the areas where 2s show up.
Let's look at how “partnership” can apply in the areas of each suit.
2 of Clubs is work partnerships. Remember that the “work” of a Club is not necessarily a paying job. This can be a partnership within a paying job, like a co-worker or boss. It can also be someone who work with on a volunteer project, the director of a choir the person the reading is for sings in, or some other kind of partnership where you work with the person. Depending on the reading, that can even be a romantic partner if issues about working together in a productive way are being addressed.
2 of Diamonds is about financial partnerships. That is probably not going to mean something like you and the bank (there are other cards that could represent something as big as a bank), but it could be someone you went in together on a loan with. Or it could be an aunt who is willing to loan you some money. Or it may not be about money at all. Abundance and wealth can come in other ways. That will often be told through how cards are read together, though. All on its own, some kind of money partnership is a pretty safe bet for the meaning of this card.
2 of Hearts is a personal relationship. That does not have to be a romantic relationship! It is likely to be a very close and deep relationship, though. It's likely not you and a neighbor you're on friendly terms with, but only on a surface level. No, this is more likely to be a parent and child, or the kind of best friends who see each other as siblings. It can be a romantic relationship, so don't throw that idea out, but also don't limit your understanding to only that kind of relationship.
And that brings us to the 2 of Spades. This is a warning about a partnership. It can be that the partnership is just unhealthy, or a warning to be watchful of a partner. It can warn you not to enter a partnership. That may apply to a specific potential partner, or it may warn you that a partnership isn't the best choice for whatever it is you're looking at. Maybe it's just better as a solitary thing.
Cards have a bit more structure than the charm oracle, so if you're having trouble getting familiar with reading the charms or just decided it's not for you, I can tell you cards may be easier for you. Keep in mind that a lot of “it may be this, it may be that” is because we're looking at possibilities for how a meaning can apply in different situations. You're not likely to be asking yourself, “But what if this is about my mother?” if you're doing a reading in which the situation is clearly about something at your job. Not unless you and your mother work at a place of business together, and even then you'd at least know the business relationship was the focus of the reading.
Stay with me as we go through all the things a card can be, and then we'll start narrowing it down with readings!
